VPK Voluntary Prekindergarten - 4 to 5 years (Child must be 4 by September 1st)
Registration for the 2022-2023 School Year is now open! Space is limited so you need to register your child as early as possible! Visit the Florida Early Learning Site and select the VPK option to register your child using the easy step-by-step online registration process.
The VPK program at Backpack University is provided to help children expand their knowledge and prepare for kindergarten and the years of schooling that lie ahead. Learn Every Day: The Preschool Curriculum and Nemours BrightStart! are used to expose them to the topics and beginning concepts of math, science, reading, technology, arts, and both shared and independent play.
We utilize a carefully planned and formatted schedule to begin to introduce structure to a child’s day. Cognitive focus skills are continuously worked on through matching, sequencing, object recognition, and storytelling activities. Penmanship is also built upon daily writing tasks, and ABCmouse Early Learning Academy supplements our hands-on technology sessions with tablets, computers, and projectors. Center time with real-life enhancements helps foster a child’s social skills, and outdoor playtime is allotted for physical development.
Our goal is to create well-rounded students with the basic academic knowledge, life skills, good manners, and values necessary to be successful in school and the world beyond our center.
