COVID-19 Notice

The uncertainty surrounding the spread of COVID-19 is creating a stressful time for families. We understand the important role our center plays in the community, and have decided to keep Backpack University open during the upcoming weeks.

Due to school closures throughout the area, we are also opening our doors for daily drop-ins of school-age children as space allows. However, in an effort to prevent further spread of the illness, children will not be able to attend if their school closed due to a confirmed or suspected case of the virus.

Rest assured that we’re still closely monitoring the news for updates from state officials and local health departments, as well as following recommended guidelines from the CDC. Our staff has been briefed on cleanliness and good hygiene practices, such as frequent hand washing. We’ve also doubled our daily sanitation routines, ensuring all surfaces and classroom items are cleaned thoroughly. Staff and students exhibiting any signs of illness will be promptly sent home. If anyone is thought to have been exposed to someone with the coronavirus, they will not be allowed at the center for 14 days, or until the suspected person has tested negative.

There have been no known cases of the coronavirus among Backpack University staff or students. Should a child or teacher at our center be diagnosed with COVID-19, the center will close immediately and follow sanitation procedures set forth by the health department.

Should the center have to close, tuition will be assessed as circumstances unfolds. However, if we are open and your child is unable to attend, our regular tuition policy will still apply.

Updates will be posted as we continue to monitor the situation. Please contact our office with any questions or concerns.
